Information about Alexandra House health spa

We want your time at ALEXANDRA HOUSE in Huddersfield to be absolutely wonderful, so we've put together some helpful information to make your day as enjoyable as possible.

Booking appointments

A £25 non-refundable deposit is required to secure bookings for pamper packages for bookings Tuesday-Friday. A 50% deposit is required for bookings of 4 or more people. Full payment is required for bookings on Saturdays. Deposits will only be refunded if at least 24 hours' notice is given.

Cancellations less than 24 hours before any booking or non-arrival without notice will incur a 100% charge.

Please note that, for insurance purposes, guests visiting ALEXANDRA HOUSE must be aged 12 or over. Treatments available for 12-16 year olds include facials, hand rituals, foot rituals, Indian head massage, paraffin wax hand treatment, foot spas.

We also accept Wahanda vouchers, Good Spa Guide vouchers, SpaFinder vouchers, SalonWish vouchers and Salons and Spas etc vouchers.

Arrival times

Packages: Our packages are scheduled to allow time for changing and movement around the spa. You do not need to arrive earlier than your appointment time, although it's not a problem if you do arrive early.

Individual Treatments: Please arrive 5-10 minutess before your scheduled appointment.

We offer a reliable treatment schedule and, as such, please appreciate that late arrivals will not receive an extension of the scheduled appointment time to avoid inconvenience to other guests. Please also note that the same treatment price will apply.

Mobile phones 

Please respect other guests' right to privacy and quiet. For the comfort of other guests, we request that mobile phones are switched to silent at all times. If you need to make a call, the spa team will direct you to a designated call area outside the spa. 

Smoking

Smoking is not permitted either inside the spa or around the spa grounds. 

What to bring with you and what to wear

If you have booked a package, ALEXANDRA HOUSE will provide you with a spa robe and slippers for use during your stay with us. Lockers will be available for your personal possessions.

If you have booked an indivdual treatment, you can just wear normal clothes.

We do advise you not to bring valuables with you to the spa - you will need to remove items of jewellry for all treatments. We are unable to accept responsibility for looking after your personal effects or for any loss or damage incurred.

If required, towels for showering are available from reception.

Remember that if you are lucky enough to have been given a Gift Voucher, bring this with you and hand it in on your arrival.


You might also like to bring your favourite book that you can't bear to put down. Alternatively you're welcome to flick through the magazines provided by ALEXANDRA HOUSE.

Relaxation rooms

Our relaxation rooms are for just that....relaxing. We respectfully ask guests to keep noise levels at a minimum so as not to disturb other spa visitors receiving treatments. Water and complimentary drinks are provided as part of your package.

Disabillity access

ALEXANDRA HOUSE is committed to providing accessibility for all. Whilst we make every effort to ensure all guests find ALEXANDRA HOUSE easily accessible, due to the layout of the building, some of the facilities are not on the ground floor. However, we are able to provide treatments and the use of a relaxation room and changing facilities on the ground floor. Our wheelchair ramp was provided by Lazarus Mobiity (http://www.lazarusmobility.com).

Contraindications to treatments

There are some contraindications to some treatments at ALEXANDRA HOUSE. Treatments are carried out subject to the completion of our Medical Client Questionnaire. If you have any conditions that we should take into account when you visit us, for example heart conditions, high/low blood pressure, circulatory disorders, epilepsy, arthritis/rheumatism, recent surgery, diabetes, allergies or pregnancy, you should seek the advice of your doctor before booking your treatments. If you do not let us know of any special requirements at the time of booking we cannot guarantee that we will be able to fully accommodate you on your visit. If you have any concerns, please give us a call on 01484 303786 (and where appropriate your doctor). If any treatment is found unsuitable we will recommend an alternative where possible.

Prices and gratuities

All prices, treatments and information are correct at the time of distribtuion and are subject to revision without notice. All prices are inclusive of VAT. Our best reward is your personal recommendation and as such gratuities are left to your discretion.
